Administered all aspects of the audio recording/electronic music program including curriculum and instructional development, instruction in all courses, facilities development, student recruiting, and intern placement/supervision. Primary facilities included a multi-track analog/digital audio recording and computer music production studio, and a multi-station PowerMac and Quadra-based computer lab. Courses taught: Physics of Music, Basic Recording, Advanced Recording, Audio Production, Digital Signal Processing for Musicians, and Creative Projects in Music Media.
Taught electronic music techniques and theory, multi-track recording and composition.
Coordinator and Technical Director of the college's electronic music studio facilities. Duties included: planning, development, acquisition, installation and maintenance of studio facility including audio and computer systems (hardware and software); student consulting; supervision of work-study staff.
Duties included: development, acquisition, installation and maintenance of physical facility including audio and computer systems (hardware and software); audio recording engineering and production; supervision of intern and volunteer staff; administration, development and teaching for education program; administration and development of Sound Sound Records label.
Responsible for all audio-visual equipment for conference clients, including set up, removal, informal instruction, consulting, small scale in house repair and inventory control.
Assisted in teaching graduate computer music classes and computer programming (FORTH, HMSL), provide dtechnical assistance in equipment installation, maintenance, sound reinforcement and public address systems and concert hall lighting.
Assisted in providing media support to the Mills campus, including remote audio and video recording, playback and projection; live sound mixing; video editing instruction; and in-house consultation for media students. Assisted in equipment maintenance, scheduling, and general administrative support. Assisted in maintenance and administration of the foreign languages instructional audiotape library.
Responsible for recording the 'Music at Mills' concert series of contemporary, chamber and classical music in live-to-stereo format.
Services include: audio consulting, engineering and production; teaching, tutoring, technical writing, and consulting in audio and recording theory; sound system design, installation and operation; analog and digital synthesis, sampling, and MIDI and computer programming for composition and performance; educational workshops/lectures on interactive computer music.
